Ritenburgh, 94, lifelong resident of Ionia, died Friday, September 19, at the Billings Convalescent Home in Millbrook. He had been a patient there since August 22 and a patient at the Grand Valley Nursing Home prior to his death. Born October 17, 1863, in Orange Township, Mr. Ritenburgh was a carpenter by trade until his retirement a few years ago. He was a member of the I.H.A. mission. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Cora Collier of Blanchard and Mrs. Ray Youngs of Berlin Township one son, Earl of Harrison; one sister, Mrs. Charles McCarry of Ionia; 11 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren; six step-daughters, Mrs. Blanche Kauffman of Freeport, Mrs. George Seidelman of Ionia, Mrs. Joe West and Mrs. William Huyler of Greenville, Mrs. Ruth Heinze of Potterville, Mrs. Alberta Kauffman of Alto, and one step-son, Dale Mitchell of Elkhart, Indiana. A son, Frank, died in November, 1944. Funeral service was held Monday, September 22, at Boynton’s Funeral Home. Interment was in Tuttle Cemetery.
