The Ionia Daily Sentinel, Thursday, July 22, 1909

Walter E. Retler, aged 28, died Wednesday in Grand Rapids.  The remains were 
brought here on the Grand Trunk train at 3:30 this afternoon and taken to the 
home of his sister, Mrs. L. R. Willetts, 213 Adams street, from which place 
the funeral will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock.  Burial in Tuttle 
cemetery.

Walter Ritter died in Grand Rapids hospital where he went from his home near 
here for an operation.  He leaves a young wife who was Miss Pearl Gibbins.  
They were married about four months ago.
