Excerpts from Ionia Obituary

DOUGLAS A. RITTER

Died February 5, 2026 surrounded by family.
Born February 13, 1941 in Clarksville, Mich, son of Hugh Gordon & Grace (Green) 
Ritter.
Doug served in the Army from 1958 until discharged in 1961.
Married the love of his life, Dale May Warner on July 25, 1961 in Ionia.
Dale worked at General Motors & was a member of the Hubbardston American Legion 
Post & the Ionia Moose Lodge.
He enjoyed golfing with his sons & grandsons & loved hunting, fishing, camping & 
playing Bingo.
Survived by his children, Diane (Mike) Nehmer of Pewamo, Mark Ritter of Ionia & 
Lisa (John) Clark of Ionia.
Grandchildren,Douglas Mc Keown (Krista Martin), Krishanda Mc Keown, Chasidy 
Clark, Sanya Griffith, John Michael Clark, Jennifer Lynn (Tracy) Nathan, 
Elizabeth Ann (Dave) Kimble, Craig Ritter & Kyle Ritter. Several Great-
grandchildren.
Also surviving are his brothers, Lee Ritter of Hastings & Richard Ritter of New 
Mexico. Sister, Dorothy Walters of Florida, Brother-in-law Hubert Tracer. 
Several nieces & Nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents, his wife Dale on June 15, 2008 & sons, Dale 
Douglas & Douglas Allen, sister, Joyce Tracer.
Funeral services will be held in Ionia on Tuesday, February 10, at 11:00 a.m.
Interment at Balcom Cemetery to follow.
Visitation on Monday, 4-7 p.m. at Lake funeral home Ionia.
