Mr. Rittersdorf, who resided at 7404 Ellison Road, died Saturday, February 28 at Belding community Hospital following a lingering illness. Officiating was Rev. Father Charles Steves. Rosary was recited Monday evening at Huffman Funeral Home. Interment was in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Otisco Township. Pallbearers included Alan Tran Jr., Thomas Tran, Gerald Rittersdorf, Richard Rittersdorf, Joseph Rittersdorf Jr., Joseph Wright. Mr. Rittersdorf was born October 23, 1889 in Keene Township, Ionia County, the son of John and Clara Rittersdorf. His first wife, Mrs. Sarah Andres Rittersdorf died in 1938. He was married to Marguerite Faber on June 10, 1939 in Beal City. She survives. A self-employed farmer, Mr. Rittersdorf was a member of St. Mary’s Church and Holy Name Society. Survivors other than his wife include two daughters, Mrs. Alan (Lorena) Tran and Mrs. John (Mary Ann Lieffrs, both of Belding; one foster daughter, Mrs. Meryl (Rosena) Wright of Muir; four sons, Louis and Joseph of Ionia, and John and Fred of Belding; four sisters, Mrs. Bertha Cowles of Belding, Mrs. Mamie Holzgen of Grand Rapids, Mrs. Lena Simon of Byron Center and Mrs. Florence Burns of Grand Rapids; one brother, Leo Rittersdorf of Holly; 30 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/mi/ionia/obits/r/rittersd10233gob.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/mifiles/ File size: 1.9 Kb
