Residents in the Miriam district were greatly shocked Friday morning to hear
that their friend and neighbor, Peter Rittersdorf, had passed away suddenly in
the night.  On Thursday evening he was as well as usual and enjoyed the family
circle during the evening, retiring about 10:30 and died before 1 o’clock
without an apparent struggle.

Peter Rittersdorf, 61, was born in Keene township not far from the farm home
where he died.  He was the son of Joe Rittersdorf and is survived by three
brothers, Anthony, of Detroit; John, of Belding, and Henry, of Miriam; also
three sisters, Mrs. Katherine Blasen, of Beal City; Mrs. Mary Rhinehardt, of
California, and Mrs. Anna VanAasche, of Detroit, and in the immediate family
circle by his wife, Emma, a daughter, Mildred, and a son, Clarence.

Funeral services were held Monday morning from St. Mary’s Catholic church, Fr.
L. L. Dorr officiating and burial was at Miriam.
