Royal L. Rittersdorf, 81, of Grand Rapids, passed away Saturday morning, Jan.
22, 2005, at Metron of Forest Hills Nursing Home, Grand Rapids.  Royal was born
Oct. 2, 1923, in Keene Township, Ionia County, the son of Frank and Katherine
Gasper Rittersdorf.  He was a member of the United Auto Workers Union and had
retired from Oliver Products.  He was married to Florence M. Clark at St. Joseph
Church in Belding in 1945.

He was preceded by his parents; brothers, Arthur, Edward, Leonard, Harold,
Andrew; and sisters-in-law, Grace Kutchey and Mary Rittersdorf.  Royal is
survived by his wife, Florence; their children, Richard Rittersdorf, Lynn M. and
Gerald Bolster, all of Greenville, Samuel L. Rittersdorf of Grand Rapids,
Jannelle K. Rittersdorf of Belding; four grandchildren, Jason Bolster, Jerry
Lynn Bolster-Hemmes, Adam and Jared Rittersdorf; two great-grandchildren, Seth
Rittersdorf, Candis Hemmes-Almas; one great-great-grandchild, Paris Lynn Almas;
brothers and their spouses, Robert and Ruby Rittersdorf, Ronald and Jackie
Rittersdorf, all of Ada, James and Betty Rittersdorf of Grand Rapids; and two
sisters-in-law, Sophie Rittersdorf and Alice Meyers.

Private family graveside services will be in Alton Cemetery, north of Lowell. 
In keeping with his wishes, there will be no visitation.  Memorial contributions
may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association of West Michigan, Hospice of West
Michigan or the Belding Library.  Funeral services were entrusted to
Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding.
