The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Tuesday, February 22, 1972
Emma Rittersdorf of 533 Harrison, Belding died Monday at United Memorial 
hospital in Greenville.  She was 94.  Born in Ionia, September 22, 1877, she 
was the daughter of Henry and Theresa Knepp.  She was married to Peter 
Rittersdorf who died in 1932.  She was a member of St. Mary’s church at Miriam 
and its Altar Rosary society.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Emory Bowen of rural Belding; son, Clarence of 
Belding; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. 
Josephine Andres of Belding and Mrs. Helen Schenden of Grand Rapids.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s church in Miriam.  
Rev. Fr. Charles E. Steves will officiate and interment will be at St. Mary’s 
cemetery.  Rosary will be recited Wednesday at 8 p.m. at Huffman funeral home 
in Belding.
