Ardith E. Rittersdorf, 78, of Greenville, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 29, 
1999, at her home.  She was born Sept. 29, 1921, in Portland to Miles and Neva 
Covert Trann.

Ardith graduated from Belding High School with the class of 1938.  She was a 
member of St. Charles Catholic Church, Greenville.

She was married Sept. 12, 1942, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Miriam, to Joseph 
Rittersdorf and he survives with their children Jean and Charles Smith, Karen 
and Phil Anderson all of Greenville, Barbara and Don Brockway of Belding, 
JoAnne and Ted Nadwodnick of Gowen, Peggy and Dave Hiler of Greenville, Richard 
and Rosalie Rittersdorf of St. Petersburg, Fla., Joseph Rittersdorf, Jr. of 
Flint, David and Becky Rittersdorf of Allegan, Steve and Carol Rittersdorf, 
Peter and Ruth Rittersdorf, all of Greenville and Mike Fisher of Flint.  She is 
also survived by 27 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren,; one sister, 
Thelma Russman of Portland and one brother Ray Trann of Smyrna.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Al Trann and one grandson 
Kevin Rittersdorf.

Funeral Mass will be at 12 p.m. Saturday at St. Charles Catholic Church with 
Father Fred Brucker officiating.  Interment will be in Rest Haven Memory 
Gardens. Visitation will be Friday from 3 until 4:30 and 7 until 9 p.m. at the 
Johnson Funeral Home, with a rosary at 8 p.m.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, the American Lung 
Association or Veritas.  Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
