Her passing away at this time is a severe blow to her family and a shock to her many friends in the neighborhood, where she was highly respected. For the past three or four months she had been suffering severely with cancers and went to the hospital in Grand Rapids, hoping for relief, but returned without encouragement. Saturday she was suddenly taken worse and continued to fail until the final summons. Mrs. Ritterstorf was born in Ohio. Her maiden name was Clara Zahm, and came here when thirteen eyras old. Beside her husband she leaves eight children, three sons—Frank, Julius and Leon, and five daughters—Lucy, Mamie, Lena, Florence and Mrs. Leo Cowles. The funeral, very largely attended, was held Wednesday morning. Rev. Fr. J. M. Zindler, officiated.
