All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/mi/mifiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Sandy Heintzelman sheintz@iserv.net February 7, 2010, 1:04 pm Belding Banner News, 28 May 1919 The death of Miss Irene Ritterstorf occurred at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Ritterstorf, eight miles south and west of this city, on Thursday, May 22, at 11 o’clock p.m. following an illness which stretched out over a period of six months, the greater part of which time she was at St. Mary’s hospital, Grand Rapids where everything that medical skill and science was done for her. The disease which attacked her and finally claimed her was a very rare case of Hotchkinson’s disease of the glands, in itself is a very rare disease. The funeral was held on Monday morning at 9 o’clock, from St. Mary’s Catholic church, Miriam; Rev. Fr. John A. Klick officiating and burial was in the cemetery there. Miss Ritterstorf was 18 years of age and was of a lovable disposition and the large concourse of people gathered at her funeral gave testimony of the esteem in which she was held by her friends. She leaves to mourn their loss besides her parents, a brother, Clarence and a sister, Mildred.
