James "Jimmy" Ritz, 37, of Greenville, formerly of Ionia passed away Feb. 28, 
2012. He was born April 14, 1974 in Monroe County, the son of Carl and Helen 
(Carigon) Ritz.

Jimmy graduated from Independent Living Center in 2000. He attended Shiloh 
Community Church all his life. He was an avid fisherman and loved music and 
word search puzzles. He loved attending sporting events of all his nieces and 
nephews.

He is survived by his mother, Helen Ritz-Martinie if Ionia; brother, Jerry 
(Kim) Ritz of Greenville; sisters, Lori (Fred) Babcock of Ionia and Susan 
(Steve Ward of Grand Ledge; grandmother Lora Ritz of St. Johns; step brothers 
Brian (Amy) Martinie of Holland, Craig (Geri) Martinie of Allendale; step 
sister Joy (Troy) Baareman of Zeeland; nine nieces and nephews; four grand-
nieces and nephews; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father Carl Ritz in 1999.

Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at the Shiloh Community Church 
with Pastor Kenneth Harger officiating. Interment Woodard Lake Cemetery. 
Visitation will be 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Lake Funeral Home in 
Ionia.
