She had been seriously ill during the past week. Mrs. Rivett was born in London, England, February 5, 1877, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John MacGinnis. May 30, 1893, she was married to John Rivett, also of London at the West Ham church, London. A short time later the couple sailed to Canada where they lived for nearly eight years, first at Richtown and later at Windsor. For nearly 30 years Mrs. Rivett has been a resident of Ionia city coming here from Windsor. In 1927 John Rivett died. Mrs. Rivett entered the University of Michigan hospital at Ann Arbor last June and a few weeks later submitted to a major operation. She returned to Ionia a few weeks ago and was regarded as showing improvement. Her condition became critical last week. Surviving are four sons, William of Detroit; Robert of Ionia, and Maurice and Arthur at home. Several brothers and sisters living in London, England also survive. Among other relatives surviving are Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Rivett of Mac..(illegible)…Ontario, Canada, and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services are to be held from the St. Johns Episcopal church of Ionia Friday afternoon at 3 o’clock with Rev. Earl Kneebone, pastor of the St. John’s Episcopal church, officiating. A short prayer service will be held from the home, 233 Adams street, at 2:30 o’clock Friday afternoon. Interment will be at Highland Park cemetery, east of Ionia.
