Rivett, 98 of Lowell, formerly of Ionia, died Tuesday morning, Jan. 13, 1998 in Lowell. She was born June 15, 1899 in Fairplains Twp., the daughter of George and Emma (Staines) Peabody and attended Amaden Rural School. She as married to Robert Rivett on Nov. 30, 1942 and he preceded her in death in 1949. She continued to make her home in Ionia after his death until illness. Mrs. Rivett was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church of Ionia. Surviving are one step-son, Robert (Agnes) Rivett of Avon Park, Fla., one step- daughter, Jacqueline (Bill) Brown of Sanger, Texas; one sister, Ruth Stanton of Ionia; one niece, Lorene (Rodney) Adgate of Ionia; one nephew, Wayne Stanton of Ionia; five step granddaughters and 11 step great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by one son, Melvin Unger Jr. as well as her parents. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Cook Funeral Home, Rev. James Bennett pastor of First Baptist Church officiating and the interment will be in Oakhill Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Rich St. Chapel on Thursday from 7-8:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church, envelopes available at the Cook Funeral Home.
