The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Thursday, December 8, 1949


Robert J. Rivett, Sr., 47, died unexpectedly at his home in South Ionia early 
Wednesday morning, December 7.  He was born in London, England, November 14, 
1902, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Rivett.  Mr. Rivett was a lifelong 
member of St. John’s Episcopal Church and of Ionia Lodge No. 36 F.&A.M.

Surviving are the wife, Norma; a son, Robert Jr. of Greenville; a daughter, 
Jacqueline of Ionia; one step-son, Staff Sgt. Melvin Unger, with the armed 
forces in Japan; two brothers, William of Ionia and Arthur of Muir.

He had been employed at the Ionia State Hospital for about 15 years.
