The Ionia Daily Sentinel, November 14, 1908

Nicholas Roach, aged 43 years, died Wednesday evening, October 21, at his home 
west of the village.  He has been failing for some time and October 11, was 
taken to Middleton to the home of his brother-in-law, Dr. Henry O’Neil, where 
he endured an operation.  He remained there until Monday before his death, 
when it was decided that there were no hopes of his recovery and he returned 
here to his home.  The funeral was held Saturday forenoon at the St. Johns 
Catholic church and the remains interred in the St. Johns cemetery.  He leaves 
a wife and six children with a large circle of relatives and friends to mourn.
