Roark, 81, of W. Bonanza Hwy., passed away Wednesday morning, June 30 at Butterworth Hospital, Grand Rapids where she was hospitalized the past week, but after an 11 weeks illness. She was born August 16, 1894 in Bowne Township, Kent County, the daughter of John and Roxie (Chatterdon) Ellis and attended the Stone School in that area. She married Earnest Roark, April 22, 1916 and resided in the Bowne Center and Cascade area before moving to Lake Odessa in 1951 from Alto. Mrs. Roark was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints at Hastings. Surviving are a son, Allison Roark of Albuquerque, N. Mexico; two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Maxine) Johnson of Lake Odessa and Mrs. Ray (Darlene) Jausma of Caledonia; 16 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren. Mr. Roark passed away August 16, 1974 and a son, Alger in 1924. Funeral services were held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Pickens-Koops Funeral Chapel at Lake Odessa with burial in the Bowne Center Cemetery. Elder Varian Bauman officiated.
