She died at Ionia County Memorial hospital where she had been a patient the past four weeks. Born August 1, 1889 in Orleans township, she was the daughter of Jesse and Helen Haines Smith, and was married in Ionia in 1904, to Vern Roberts who died in 1946. Mrs. Roberts had lived at the present residence over 30 years. She is survived by two sons, Elga and Carl Roberts of Ionia; two daughters, Mrs. Hazel Nevins of Ionia, and Mrs. Emma Misner of Lansing; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Bertha DeLine of Belding. Another sister, Mrs. Mary Dumper, preceded her in death the previous day at Grand Haven General hospital. Funeral service for Mrs. Roberts will be Monday at Boynton funeral home at 1:30 p.m., with interment at Easton cemetery. Subsequent Publication: Tuesday, January 16, 1962 Funeral service was held Monday afternoon for Mrs. Etta M. Roberts, 72, who died early Friday morning at Ionia hospital. She was a lifelong resident of Ionia and lived at 1026 Yeomans street. The Rev. Richard Tyson, pastor of Calvary Baptist church, officiated and burial was at Easton cemetery. Bearers were Coral Bennett, Luie French, James Roberts, Ora Roberts, Jr., Gayle Leslie and Allen Haigh. Out of town relatives attending were Mr. and Mrs. Howard Misner and family of Lansing.
