Ionia Daily Sentinel, 25 Jul 1916

John Roberts, aged 76, died Monday evening at 6 o’clock at the home of his
daughter, Mrs. Walter Plummer, 245 Yeomans street.  He was a member of the
G.A.R. and a longtime resident here.  Five children survive: Mrs. Geo. Phillips,
Mrs. Walter Plummer, Harry and Corey Roberts of Ionia and Bert Roberts of
Stanton.  The funeral will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the home
of his daughter, Mrs. Plummer.  Interment will be in Oak Hill cemetery.  The
services will be in charge of the G.A.R. from among whom the following bearers
will be chosen: Jas. Laden, Robt. Carpenter, Geo. Rector, Geo. Pettengill, Al
Tingley and W.A. Woods.
