ROBERTS Funeral services for Carl E. Roberts, 57, will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Boynton funeral home, with Rev. Lowell E. Young of First Baptist church officiating. Mr. Robert of 216 Maple street, Lowell, died suddenly at his home Sunday morning. Born June 11, 1909 in Easton township, he was the son of Vern and Etta Smith Roberts. He attended school in Ionia and upon graduation started work for Consumers Power Company and was employed there several years. August 5, 1933 he was married to Beth Townsend at Bryan, Ohio. During World War II he was employed at Spicer Arenal in Toledo, Ohio. In 1946 he returned to Ionia and at Ypsilanti Reed Co. November as a correction officer since. November 30, 1962 he was married to Mrs. Mary Kathryn Henderson and has made his home in Lowell since. Surviving are his wife Mary; two sons Jerry of Flint and Todd of Ionia; one grandson; one step-son, George Henderson of Grand Rapids; one step-daughter Mrs. Dorothy Fisher of Lowell; four step-grandchildren; one brother Elga Roberts of Ionia; two sisters, Mrs. Emma Misner of California; Mrs. Hazel Nevins of Ionia; one daughter Carol preceded him in death in 1956. Family will be at the funeral home Monday and Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. to greet family and friends. Interment will be in Easton cemetery.
