Lake Odessa Wave - April 28, 1982
  IONIA - Hazel Roberts, 87, of 525 N. Beresford Street, Ionia died April 23 at the
Belding Christian Nursing 
Home.
   She was born Oct. 11, 1894, in Lake Odessa to Herbert and Orilla Cunningham
Smith. In 1911 she married 
Frank Roberts.  They lived in Lake Odessa and Lansing until his retirement in 1942.
   They purchased a farm on the Clarksville Road where they lived until 1965 when
they moved to Ionia.
   Survivors are; two daughters, Mrs. John (Geneva) Rizzi of Lansing; and Mrs.
Bernard (Bertha) Hansknecht 
of Ionia; two grandchildren, five great grandchildren and two great-great
grandchildren.
   Services were Monday at 1 p.m. at the Leddick Funeral Home, with the Rev. Eldon
Schram officiating.   Burial 
was in Lakeside Cemetery in Lake Odessa.
   A memorial fund had been established.

   IONIA - Funeral services were held Monday afternoon from the Leddick Funeral Home
for Hazel A. Roberts, 
87, of Ionia, who died Friday.
   The Rev. Eldon Schram of Zion United Methodist Church officiated.
   Organist was Josephine Barna.
   Burial was in Lakeside Cemetery, Lake Odessa.  All pallbearers were grandsons;
Randy and Riste Hall; Scott 
Fell; and Stephen, Paul and Robert Barker.
   Following graveside services lunch was served to family and friends at the home
of a grand daughter, Elwin 
and Beverly Hall.
