December 14, 1917 A YOUNG LIFE GONE TO IS LAST REWARD After Three Years Attempts to Regain Health, Grace DeMaranville Roberts Passes away One of the quietest little unassuming women, loving and beloved in her home, Mrs.Grace Roberts said good bye to earthly friends and passed on to await the coming of her friends in the "home over there" For a long time every available cure has been tried and no expense spared to help to save the life of this young wife and mother but none of these succeeded and Monday morning she passed to her reward. She was a member of the Rebekahs and the Lady Maccabees. The funeral was held Thursday morning at the Methodist church where she formerly attended Sunday School. Rev. D.D. King, the pastor, preached from the text. "If a Man Die Shall He Live Again?" Mrs.A.J. Dann and Mrs.V.C. Rossa sang accompanied by Frances Carpenter. Burial was in Lake Side Cemetery. OBITUARY Grace Hazel DeMaranville was born in Norfolk, Nebraska,January 9th, 1895 and departed this life, after a lingering illness of nearly 3 years, December the 10th, 1917, t the home of her parents in Lake Odessa, aged 22 years, 11 months and one day. She came to Michigan with her parents at the age of 2 years.She was united in marriage to Lawrence Roberts, February 24th, 1913. To this union was born one child, Glendon Lee. She leaves to mourn, their loss besides a husband and child, a father, and mother and one sister, Mrs.Edna Blakely and a host of other relatives and friends. CARD OF THANKS We wish to thank the many friends, neighbors, Rebekahs, Maccabees and all who so kindly assisted us in our time of recent bereavement.
