Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, 22 Aug 1946

Vern Roberts, 61, died Thursday about 7:00 a.m. at his home, 338 Yeomans 
street, of a heart attack.  He had been in poor health for about 11 years.

Mr. Roberts was born September 8, 1885, in Gratiot county, and moved to Ionia 
45 years ago, where he had lived since.  In April 1905, he was married to Etta 
Smith.  He was last employed at Staffords 11 years ago.

He is survived by his wife, Etta; three sons, Elga, Carl and Lee, of Ionia; two 
daughters, Mrs. Emma Misner of Lansing and Mrs. Hazel Nevins of Ionia; 14 
grandchildren, two brothers, Ora Roberts of Ionia and Howard Mayhew of 
Chesaning; two sisters, Mrs. Maude Sherman of Lansing and Mrs. Mabel Roderick 
of Boyne City.

Funeral services will be held from the Boynton funeral home Monday at 2:00 
p.m., and interment will be at the Easton cemetery.
