Nelson Clayton Robertson, 92, of Belding, formerly of Dearborn, passed away
Sunday, Jan. 24, 2010, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.  A chapel and
graveside funeral service was Jan. 26 at Oakview Cemetery in Royal Oak, attended
by his wife of 36 years and the immediate family.

Clayton resided in Dearborn for more than 60 years and retired from the
Teamsters in 1978.  He was a veteran of World War II and served as a waist
gunner on B-17s with the 15th Air Force in Bari, Italy, and was honorably
discharged on Oct. 14, 1945.

Clayton is survived by his loving and caring wife of 36 years; his wife’s
daughter, Darlene and her husband Ken of Ronald Township, and her two children,
Paul and Mary, who knew Clayton as their grandpop whom they loved and cherished.
 Clayton is also survived by a distant son and his wife Carol of Florida; a
daughter, Pamela Wrase, her two sons, Jerry Stubbe (Jerry was the apple of
Clayton’s eye and he loved his grandma Barb) and Jeffery Wrase; and several
grandchildren.  Clayton also has eight great-grandchildren residing in Michigan
and Massachusetts.

Clayton will be missed.  He died peacefully with his loving wife, Barbara
Robertson, by his side.  Since they were married in 1974, Clayton and Barbara
shared a 36-year love affair.  Clayton wrote all over the house and had
stenciled on his T-shirts and sweatshirts, “I Love You, Barbara.”

Funeral care was entrusted to Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding.
