Robertson, 78, for over 40 years a resident of Ronald township. He was a native of Canada but came to this community with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Duncan Robertson, while still a small child, and had lived here since and until the beginning of his illness four years ago, was actively engaged in farming. Early in his life he accepted the faith of the Church of Christ and for a long time held membership in the church at Woodard lake, later transferring his affiliation to the Ionia church, where he held the office of elder at the time of his death, and where he had been instrumental in promulgating its doctrines, both by his activities in the organization and the exemplary life that he lived in the community. He was a member of the Masonic lodge. He was a staunch republication and was serving as a supervisor when taken ill, his son, Ray, taking the post after the father was no longer able to carry on the work. Surviving are the widow; the son, Ray of Ronald township, two daughters, Mrs. Edith Pierson of Ronald, and Mrs. Sadie Cook of Ionia; and a brother, Henry of Ionia, and two brothers living about one mile apart.
