The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Monday, May 14, 1956


Mrs. Clareisa Jane (Jennie) Robins, 84, 301 Adams street, Ionia, died Sunday 
morning, May 13 at 5 o’clock.  Born November 27, 1871 in Lowell, she was the 
daughter of Richard and Hattie Hyatt Riley and had lived in Ionia since 1921.  
She was a member of the I.H.A. Mission.

Preceded in death by her husband Demetrius, who died November 19, 1921, one 
daughter, Mrs. Hazel London, died in 1951 and one son died in infancy, she is 
survived by two daughters, Mrs. Harry Patterson, Portland; Mrs. Leon Roomsburg, 
Ionia; two grandchildren; five great grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Grace 
Pyke of Boyne Falls and Mrs. Gertrude Boersma of Tawas City.

Funeral services will be held at the Myers funeral home, Wednesday afternoon at 
2 o’clock, with Mrs. Rosa Gallagher in charge of the service.  Interment will 
be at Highland Park cemetery.

Funeral services for Mrs. Jennie Robinson, 84, who died at home Sunday morning, 
May 13, were conducted Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Myers funeral 
home.  Mrs. Rosa Gallagher officiated.  Interment was in the Highland Park 
cemetery.

Bearers were Raymond Roomsburg, J. C. Winslow, Chester Bodman, Peter Gallagher, 
Victor Griffin and Vernon Griffin. 

Attending from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Harry Patterson of Portland, Mr. 
and Mrs. Harold Cook and family of Kalamazoo, Mrs. Andrew SeManik of Flint, 
Mrs. Andrew Burdick, Miss Marilyn Burdick and Freddie Burdick of Okemos, Mrs. 
Grace Pyke of Boyne Falls, Mrs. Fannie Skutt of Grand Rapids, Mrs. Gertrude 
Roomsburg and William Roomsburg of Muskegon, Mr. and Mrs. Ira Morden and 
daughter of Rodney, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Secoy and Mr. and Mrs. Orin Starks of 
Saranac and Mrs. Deloris Green and family of Holt.
