Robinson, 89, of Orleans, passed away Tuesday, February 22, 2000, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born May 31, 1910, in Fenwick, the son of Harry and Sadie Robinson. He was a lifelong resident of Ionia and Montcalm counties, a longtime farmer and a retiree of the Ionia State Hospital. He has been a devoted husband to his wife, Dorothy Hoppough, for 73 years. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; his five children, Vera and George Hendricks of Grand Rapids, Marvin Robinson of Texas, Dorma Lee and Leo Marshall of Greenville, Shirley and Larry Baker of Allendale and Ronald Robinson of Orleans; his 14 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren, Robin Grzeszak, Jena, Jacob and Arlenea of Cedar Springs, Mark Hendricks of Grand Rapids, Tom and Lisa Lafferty, Justin and McKenzie of Sheridan, Jeff and Sally Marshall, Jessie of Greenville, Doug and Jill Marshall, Allison, Molly, Kelsey, Abby and Zack of Glen Ellyn, Illinois, Dan and Jennifer Marshall, Kaleigha and Alex of Cadillac, Jody Thompson, Laura, Matt of Grand Rapids, Larry II and Mary Baker, Larry III, Dustin, Matt, Theresa and Beth of Walker, John and Denise Baker, Stephanie, Sarah, Roger and daughter Clarissa, Steven and Jason of Middleville, Michele Baker of Grand Rapids, Ron and Tammie Robinson, Brittany, Bailey, Evan, Nicholas and Jackson of Grand Rapids, Tim and Kathy Robinson, Tyler, Katelyn, Ryleigh of Ionia, Chris and Beth Robinson, Francesca and Samantha of Hudsonville, Jill Robinson of Orleans and friend Brian Jensen; special friend and helper Joan Howorth of Orleans; his sister, Avis Phillips of Battle Creek; brother in law and sisters in law, Floyd and Carol Hoppough of Florida; and by Gen Hoppough of Big Rapids. He was preceded in death by a special great-granddaughter, Holly Kathleen Baker; his brothers, Floyd, William, Marion, Harold; and his sisters, Alta and Vada. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Shiloh Community Church, Orleans, with Pastor Jamey Nichols officiating. Visitation will be today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Marshall Funeral Home, Greenville. A visitation will also be held Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Memorial contributions can be made in Stanley’s name to the Shiloh Community Church.
