The accident occurred at Yeoman and Washington Sts. in a rain. No one saw the accident, but it is believed the accident occurred when the machine struck the curb. The boy, a senior in Ionia High school, had been operating the two and one-half ton machine in his summer vacation and planned to operate it before and after school hours. Mrs. Lawrence Grescoviak, who lives near the crash scene, notified Coroner Harry Myers. The corner and Deputy Sheriff Tom McKendry investigated. Besides his father the boy is survived by his mother, Mildred, and a sister, Donna, a junior in Ionia High school. Funeral services will be held Saturday from the Myers Funeral Home with interment in the Belding cemetery.
