Gladys “Joanne” (Montgomery) Robinson, 64, of AuTrain, Mich. died Tuesday, May
14, 1996 at her home, where she was under hospice care.

She was born Dec. 7, 1932 in Ionia, the daughter of Charles and Iva (Bowers)
Montgomery.  She graduated from Ionia schools and married William Robinson Nov.
26, 1951 in Lake City.  She was employed by the Grand Ledge Public Schools as a
secretary until her retirement in 1976.  She was also employed in the AuTrain
Post Office for several years when she moved to this area.  She was a member of
the Munising Baptist Church and enjoyed crocheting, reading, golf and was an
avid shopper.

She is survived by her husband, William, of AuTrain; daughter Debra Joanne
Zimmerman, of Manistique; step-mother Fern (Charles) Montgomery of Ionia;
sisters: Doris (Larry) Hopkins, of Ionia, Pat (Terry) Madison, of Vermontville,
Linda (Ron) Dankenbring of Ionia and Nancy (Wayne) Morgridge of Ionia;
stepsister Marguarite (Charles) Yahr; stepbrother Robert (Margaret) Bennett of
Ionia; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 16, 1996 at Munising Baptist
Church in Wetmore with Dr. David Whitaker officiating.  Interment will be in
Boon Township Cemetery, near Cadillac at 3 p.m. Friday, May 17.  Memorial
contributions may be made to the Munising Baptist Church.
