Robinson, 74, of Orleans and Tye, Texas passed away peacefully at his mother’s home in Orleans on Monday, May 5, 2003. He was born in Ionia County on April 25, 1929 the son of Stanley and Dorothy Hoppough Robinson. Marvin had an extreme passion for motorcycles and was a past novice rider. He was co-owner with his brother of the R & R Vintage Tractor Collections and was a past member of the Army Reserves. He spent 36 years in Texas, where he was a heavy duty machine operator, and recently returned to Michigan because of his failing health. His father Stanley preceded him in death in 2000. Surviving are his mother, Dorothy, of Orleans; son Tom (Lisa) Lafferty of Sheridan and their children Justin and Mackenzie; brother, Ronald S. Robinson of Orleans; sisters Vera (George) Hendricks of Grand Rapids, Lee (Leo) Marshall of Greenville, Shirley (Larry) Baker of Allendale; several nieces and nephews and many great-nieces and great-nephews; and special friend and caretaker Joan Howorth of Orleans. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Marshall Funeral Home, Greenville, with Pastor Jamey Nichols of the Congregational Church of Stanton officiating. Burial will be in Clear Lake Cemetery. Memorials will be to the Congregational Church of Stanton or Shiloh Community Church.
