Coletta Robords, 85, of Ionia died Saturday, April 26 at Butterworth Hospital 
in Grand Rapids.  She was born April 26, 1912 in Bayside, Long Island, New 
York, the daughter of Charles and Hazel (Campbell) Crawford.  She grew up in 
New York State and graduated from Hornell High School, State University 
College in Geneseo, N.Y. and Alfred College in Alfred, N.Y.

She was married to Jesse C. Robords in Hornell, N.Y. on June 26, 1936.  
Colette lived in Ionia for 54 years and was an active member of St. John’s 
Episcopal Church and St. John’s Guild.  She was also a member of the Ionia 
County Historical Society.  She taught school for many years in both New York 
and Ionia public schools systems.

She is survived by three daughters, Mary Harris of Irving, Texas, Lois Robords 
of Lake Odessa and Christine (Charles) Mason of Homewood, Ill.; one son, Alan 
(Cindy) Robords of Charlotte; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; 
one sister, Ethel Cooke of Angola, N.Y.  She was preceded in death by her 
parents; husband, Jesse; brother, Clifford Crawford; grandson, Conrad Harris.

Requiem Mass for Colette Robords will be held Wednesday, April 30 at 11 a.m. 
from St. John’s Episcopal Church in Ionia with Fr. Scott Anderson 
officiating.  Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.  Visitation will 
be Tuesday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. from the Cook 
Funeral Home, Rich St. Chapel, Ionia.  Memorial contributions may be made to 
the St. John’s Episcopal Church Memorial Fund.  Envelopes are available to 
Cook Funeral Home in Ionia or St. John’s Episcopal Church.
