The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Thursday, February 24, 1955


Mrs. Nannie J. Roche, 76, died Wednesday evening at 7 o’clock at the home of 
her daughter, Mrs. Martin Carlsen, Route 2, Fenwick, where she has made her 
home since November.  

She was born March 4,1878, in Grand Rapids the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Solomon 
Johnson.   She was married to Mathew Roche in Chicago and moved to Ionia in 
1912.  Mrs. Roche was a member of the Blue Star Mothers.

Surviving besides her husband, Mathew, are two daughters, Mrs. Julia Reglin of 
Ionia and Mrs. Carlsen of Fenwick; three sons, Emmett and Allen of Ionia and 
Clifford of Kingsley; thirteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 1:30 at Stone-Kauffman 
funeral home with the Rev. Court O. Adams officiating.  Interment will be at 
Highland Park cemetery.
