Ionia Sentinel Standard, Feb 2015

Charlene Joan (McCrumb) Rock, 82, of Portland, passed away on Feb. 23, 2015.  She
was born on Oct. 4, 1932, in Berlin Twp., Ionia Co. the daughter of Roy and Carrie
(Parks) McCrumb.  

Joan worked at the school cafeteria and drove school bus for several years.  She had
her own antique shop called “Hilltop Collectables”, loved going to garage sales and
spending time with her family.  Joan had a love for music and musical instruments,
she would play and teach her grandchildren in her special music room which they all
loved.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ronald C. Cook; daughter, Ronalda
Kay (Rock) Tucker; brothers Herbert McCrumb, Glen “Bud” McCrumb and Raymond McCrumb;
sister, Elaine (McCrumb) Baker.

Surviving are her children: two daughters Carolyn (Tom) Snyder of Ionia and Debra
Vincent of Portland; son, John (Patty) Rock of Portland; son-in-law, Richard Tucker
of Regina, Sask., Canada; grandchildren Brian Snyder of Portland, Carrie (Mark) Todd
of Comstock Park, Autumn Rock of Portland, Justin Vincent of Grand Ledge, Amy (Zac)
Warren of Boston, John and Ryan Rock of Portland; great grandchildren Trevor and
Alexys Todd; siblings Maxine Beebe and Esther Summers of Portland, Katie Mastrionia
of Denver, CO and Dennis (Lucy) McCrumb of Polson, MT; brother-in-law, Duane Rock of
Battle Creek; sister-in-law, Betty Sharp of Ionia; many special nieces and nephews.

The Memorial Service will be conducted by Pastor Fred Lab, Christian Outreach Church
at 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 28, 2015, at the Lehman Funeral Home, 210 E. Bridge St.,
Portland.  Interment will be at a later date at Portland Cemetery.  The family will
receive friends 9 a.m. until the time of the service.
