Virginia Marie Rockburn, 85, of Belding, went to be with her Lord on Thursday,
July 13, 2006, at Spectrum Health United Memorial United Campus Extended Care,
Greenville.  Virginia was born Sept. 7, 1920, in Grand Rapids, to Walter and
Hazel Grace Miller Prinz.

She was raised in the Grand Rapids area and attended Kellogsville High School. 
On June 30, 1939, Virginia married William J. Rockburn Sr., the love of her life
for 55 years.  Virginia loved children, choosing to work for both Grattan Public
School and the Belding High School.  She helped out where she was needed most,
both as a cook and a teacher’s aide.  William and Virginia were both members of
the Lions Club bowling league.  She had many hobbies and loved many things,
including cooking, cleaning and caring for her family, but she especially loved
holidays and having her family around.  She was a very special mother.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Sr., in 1994; her parents; and
sister, Betty Homrich.  Virginia is survived by two sons, William J. Jr. and
Nancy Rockburn of Belding, Bruce and Dianne Rockburn of Greenville; two
daughters, Darlene and Robert Lester of Plainwell, Joan and John Hendricks of
Greenville; two sisters, Patricia Nadeau, Bertha Reil, both of Florida; brother,
Walter Prinz of Greenville; 15 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service is 3 p.m. Saturday at Huffman-Brigham Funeral Chapel,
Belding, with Pastor Darwyn Hassert officiating.  A luncheon will be prepared at
Oakwood Christian Reformed Church, Belding, following the service.  Memorial
contributions may be made to Ronald McDonald House.
