Ionia Sentinel Standard, 23 March 2002

Carlton B. Rockey, 76, formerly of Orleans, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 21, 
2002 in Punta Gorda, Fla.  He was born on July 11, 1925 in Ionia, the son of 
Linus and Mary (Kavanaugh) Rockey.  Carl served his country in the Navy during 
World War II.  He was a lifetime member of the Punta Gorda Elks Lodge and a 
charter member of the Burnt Isles Yacht Club.

He is survived by his wife, Sybil, of 56 years; a brother, Donald (Doris) 
Rockey; eight nieces and nephews; a step-brother; and a step-sister.

Carl was preceded in death by his sister, Martha (Charles) Onstwedder; and 
brother Robert (Ilene) Rockey.

A Memorial Service held on Friday, March 1, 2002, at Larry Taylor Funeral and 
Cremation Services in Punta Gorda, Fla.  Memorial donations may be made to 
Animal Welfare League, 3519 Drance St., Port Charlotte, FL 33980.
