January 31, 2021 ROE, 81 Patricia Roe, 81 Patricia M.(Scheid) Roe, 81, of Saranac, after a long and heroic fight with cancer was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Dec. 31, 2020. She was born Oct. 10, 1939, in Ionia, the daughter of Fred Earl and Marie Myrtle (Kirby) Sheaffer. Pat married Gordon Scheid July 13 1957, together they raised two children Steve and Kathy before Gordon passed away Nov.9, 2002. Pat was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Ionia. She drove a school bus for Saranac Community Schools for many years. Pat loved to sew, quilt and bowl. She and her husband Gordon enjoyed dancing together especially the Polka. One of Pat's greatest accomplishments was her love for her family. She will be remembered for her smile and kindness. Surviving Pat are her husband Robert Roe of Saranac. Children; Steve (Michelle) Scheid of Houghton Lake and Kathy (Matt) Hecksel of Grand Rapids. Grandchildren; Danielle Scheid of Houghton Lake, Alison Scheid and Fiance' Nick Vandebos of Falmouth, Christoper(Sydney) Sawyer of Grand Rapids and Katelyn Morrison of Middleville. Great-grandchildren; Stevie Scheid, Andersen Sawyer ad Quinn Morrison. Sister Ruth Christensen of Grand Rapids. Sister-in-law Joyce Hamp of Ionia. Pat was preceded n death by her parents, husband Gordon, sister Kathy Sheaffer and brother Freddy Sheaffer. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 9, 2021 at St.John's Lutheran Church at 11 a.m. with Pastor Joe Fremer officiating. Interment Easton Cemetery. Visitation was at the Lake Funeral Home in Ionia on Friday 1-3 and 5-7 p.m. Those wishing may make memorial contributions to St.John's Lutheran Church.
