The burial will probably be Monday. Mr. Rodgers, who was 65 years old, with his wife and two sons, Roy and Wendle, and their wives’ left overland for Florida shortly after New Years’ day, planning to spend the winter. During his trip south he was taken ill and has been sick ever since and died in a hospital there a few days ago. Mr. Rodgers had been a resident of Ionia county nearly all his life and owned a farm on M-16, four miles west of Portland. He was a brother of Mrs. Lucy Galloway, of Ionia. Another sister, Mrs. Sidney Chapin, of Portland, and two brothers, James Rodgers of Detroit, and O.H. Rodgers, of Stockton, Cal., and also three sons Roy and Wendle who were in the south with him, and Warren, who is on the old homestead.
