Ionia Sentinel Standard, 18 Apr 1957

Mrs. Clara J. Rodgers, 86, life long resident of Ionia county, died Wednesday night
at 8:30 at Finefrock rest home in Woodland where she had been a patient for three
weeks.  She had been hospitalized prior to that and had been in ill health for
several years. 

Mrs. Rodgers was born July 8, 1870 in Sebewa, daughter of Knoll and Isabella
Creighton.  She married Bert Rodgers in 1895 and resided on a farm in Sebewa until
moving to their present home in Lake Odessa 30 years ago.  She was a member of WCTU
and attended the Calvary UB church in Lake Odessa.

Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Floyd (Hazel) Banker, missionary stationed at
Pardi, India; Mrs. Morley (Lottie) Hough of Lake Odessa; Mrs. Harry (Gladys)
Sandbrook of Woodland, and Mrs. York (Bernice) Duffy of Kalamazoo; two sisters, Mrs.
Jennie Leak of Lake Odessa and Mrs. Raymond Durkee of Williamston; one brother, C.W.
Knoll of Ionia; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Rodgers body reposes at the Pickens funeral chapel at Lake Odessa where
services will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m.  Burial will be at Lakeside cemetery. 
The Rev. I.H. Osgood will officiate.
