Dorothy E. Rogers, 75, of Stanton, passed away Sun., Nov. 10, 2002 at her 
home.  Mrs. Rogers was born on May 7, 1927 in McBride, the daughter of Elwood 
F. and Lelia (Crawford) Beard.

She is survived by one sister, Doris (Guy) Messacar of Stanton; and two nieces 
and three nephews, David Szumal of Mt. Clemens, Thomas Szumal of Mt. Clemens, 
Amy Beard Bennett of Toledo, Ohio, Scott Messacar of Stanton and Susan Robinson 
of Haslett.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Rogers; one 
sister, Alice Szumal; and two brothers, Robert Beard and Franklin Beard.

Mrs. Rogers was a longtime resident of the Stanton and Ionia areas.  She 
retired from the Michigan Department of Corrections.

In accordance with Mrs. Rogers wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral 
services held.  Following cremation, final interment will be a the Sidney 
Cemetery, Sidney.  For those desiring to remember Mrs. Rogers in a special way, 
the family suggests memorial considerations to the White Pine Library in 
Stanton.  The family is being served by the Stebbins and Simpson Funeral Home 
at Sheridan.
