The Ionia Standard, Friday, April 17, 1896

Joseph Rogers, aged 45, died on Friday at the asylum, and the remains were on 
Saturday shipped to Dowagiac where they were deposited in the family lot.  The 
father, who is reported to be quite wealthy, and who now lives at Decatur, was 
in Ionia some time ago, and left $100 to defray expense of burial, should it 
be necessary at any time he could not be reached.
