Rogers, 80, of 8325 N. State Road, Orleans, died Friday, May 5, at Butterworth Hospital. He was born Dec. 11, 1908 at Moore, Idaho. He was an engineer at Gibson from 1939 to 1974. He served in Iran and Brazil with the International Executive Service Corporation. He was a life member of the National Rifle Association, a member of the American Society of Manufacturing Engineers, past master and life member of the Belding Lodge 355 F&AM, a 32nd degree Mason, and a member of the Saladin Shrine Temple of Grand Rapids. Surviving are his wife, Esther Moore, whom he married Feb. 17, 1934 in Belding; two daughters, Mrs. Danny (Mary Ellen) Groom of Fenwick and Mrs. James (Susan) Warden of Ionia; five sons, Richard of Orleans, David of Ionia, Dr. Robert of Orleans, Daniel of Orleans, and James of Portland; one half brother, Albert Rogers of Fremont; 19 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Monday at 2:30 p.m. at the Huffman Funeral Home in Belding, the Rev. Kenneth Harger officiating. Burial will be in Woodard Lake Cemetery. Friends may visit the family Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Saladin Shrine Fund for Crippled Children, and may be left at the funeral home.
