Ionia Sentinel-Standard - Jan. 16 & 20, 1969


William H. Rogers, 62, of 422 East Washington, died Wednesday afternoon at 
Belding Community Hospital. 

He was born February 3, 1906, in Saranac, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Alpha E. 
Rogers. September 14, 1929 he was married in Orlando, Ind. to Eleanor Baker of 
Battle Creek. They came to Ionia to make their home in 1946. Since September 
15, 1950 he has been employed as an attendant at Ionia State hospital.

Surviving are his wife, Eleanor; one son Floyd E. Rogers of Ionia; two 
daughters, Joyce H. Rogers of Boston, Mass. and Mrs. Charlotte Cooper of 
Saranac and six grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Miles Bennett of Ionia.

Funeral services will be at 11 am Saturday at Myers funeral home with interment 
at Balcom Cemetery. 



Mon. Jan. 20, 1969

Rev. Lowell Young officiated at funeral services Saturday for William H. Rogers 
who died Wednesday at Belding. Interment was at Balcom cemetery.

Bearers were Don Ferguson,Jr., Louis Neet, Art Esch, Robert Wildman, Burdette 
Lampman and Jack Eiler.

Attending from out of town were Mrs. Phoebe Baker, Mr. and Mrs. Martin Youngs 
and son, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Gustke, Mr. and Mrs. Orville Baker and son, Mr. and 
Mrs. Martin Youngs, Jr. and family, Mrs. William Crapoff and son, Marie 
Hernandez all of Battle Creek; Mr. and Mrs. William Tadman and family, Mr. and 
Mrs. William Tadman, Jr., all of Grand Rapids; Mr. and Mrs. James Youngs of 
Schoolcraft; Mr. and Mrs. Richard Patrick, Mr. and Mrs. Roland Allen and Edwin 
Jamros, all of Lansing; Mrs. Elizabeth Harder and Mrs. Margaret Collins and son 
of Lyons; Mrs. George Doty of Orleans.
