Rogers, 82, of Gladwin, passed away Sat., Oct. 5, 2002 at his residence following a brief illness. He was born on Feb. 20, 1920 in Grand Ledge, to the late Henry and Grace (Edward) Rogers. He married the former Velma Zimmer on May 30, 1940 in Portland. She survives him. He retired from Oldsmobile of Lansing in 1972. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the VFW Post in Lyons. Surviving besides his wife Velma are three sons, Harry (Margaret) Rogers of Ionia, William (Janice) Rogers of Lyons and Terry (Joyce) Rogers of Gladwin; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Laura Van Dyne of Lyons; and three brothers, Lyle (Kitty) Rogers and Clyde (Beverly) Lyons both of Lyons and Kendall (Virginia) Rogers of Muir. He was predeceased by his daughter, Patricia Ferris; one sister; and five brothers. At Mr. Rogers request to there was no visitation. Arrangements were handled by Sisson Funeral Home.
