Rogers, 35, former local mechanic, passed away in St. Mary's hospital, Grand Rapids, last Wednesday morning following an operation for the removal of a tumor on his spine, January 30. Mr. Rogers and family lived at Cedar Springs and he was employed as a mechanic in the Ford garage there, until his illness three weeks ago. When the family lived in this city the deceased held a similar position in the local Ford garage and has a wide acquaintance in this community who sympathize with the sorrowing family. Ross was a son of John D. Rogers of Shiloh. He was born in Idaho and came to Michigan as a young lad. The mother died in the west and is buried in Idaho. The father and children lived here for a time and then returned west for several years later deciding to make this state their permanent home. Mr. Rogers is survived by two daughters by a former marriage, the children live with their mother in Marysville. The present wife was formerly Miss Hulda Woodruff of this city, she and her two children, Margaret and Charles, the father, John Rogers and three brothers, Jean of Jackson, Lee of Rogers City; Lynn of Detroit and a half-brother, Albert at home are also among the survivors. Funeral services were held fromt eh late home in Cedar Springs Saturday at 2 o'clock. Rev. H.S. Ellis of this city officiatined and burial was in Woodard Lake cemetery near the father's home.
