Daily Sentinel-Standard - Monday, Aug. 28, 1939
 Mrs. Eliza J. Rogers, 85, wife of the late Daniel E. Rogers, of Lowell, died 
at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John B. Welch, of Ronald township Saturday 
afternoon, August 26, at 12:15 o'clock. She had been ill about four weeks.

She was born in Rochester, N.Y., in 1854. At the age of four years she came to 
Michigan with her parents where she resided the remainder of her life.

In 1868 she was united in marriage to Daniel E. Rogers of Rutland township. To 
this union was born eight children, five of whom survive. They are Willard E. 
Rogers of Plymouth, Ray J. Rogers of Alma, Mrs. Verne Payne of Plymouth, Mrs. 
John Welch of Ronald township and Mrs. Ross Benedict of Ionia. Five 
grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be held from the Myers funeral home, 146 East Main 
street, Tuesday afternoon, august 29 at 2 o'clock. Pallbearers will be six 
grandsons, Harold Payne, Roger Payne, Amos Welch, Otto Rogers, Harold Stratton 
and Morris Benedict.
