Lyle “Bud” Rogers, age 70, of Lyons passed away March 16, 2003 at Heartland 
Health Care Center in Ionia.  

Bud was an avid fisherman and hunter.  He was a member of the Hubbardston 
American Legion and the V.F.W. Lyons-Muir Post.  Bud was a veteran of the 
United States Air Force serving in Alaska, and a lifetime member of the 
Portland Conservation Club in Portland.  He retired from General Motors after 
30 years of service. He is the son of the late Henry and Grace (Edwards) 
Rogers.  On December 2, 1961 he married Kathleen “Kitty” Smith in Ionia.

He is survived by his wife Kitty, one sister, Laura VanDyne of Lyons, two 
brothers, Clyde (Bev) Rogers of Lyons, Kendall (Virginia) Rogers, of Muir.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Dorothy Bates, infant brothers, 
Douglas and Frankie Rogers, six brothers, Francis “Mike” Rogers of Portland, 
Harry Rogers of Gladwin, Harold Rogers of Muir, Raymond Rogers of Derby Lake, 
John Rogers of Muir, and Jack Rogers of Muir.

Cremation has taken place.  Graveside memorial services will be conducted by 
Dr. Darren Tharp, Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church, Ionia on Saturday, April 12, 
2003 at Lyons Township Cemetery, Lyons.  Military Graveside services will be 
provided by the Hubbardston American Legion Post #182.  A luncheon will be 
provided at the Lyons-Muir V.F.W. Post after the service.

For those wishing, contributions may be made to the V.F.W. Lyons-Muir Post or 
the Hubbardston American Legion in memory of Mr. Rogers.  Arrangements are 
entrusted to the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Homes, Cook Chapel, 220 Rich Street, 
Ionia.
