Ionia - Michael Rohal, 82, of Ionia died Friday evening, May 30, 1997, at St.
Lawrence Hospital in Lansing as a result of injuries from an automobile accident
on April 15 in Eagle.  He was born July 1, 1914, the son of William and Mary
(Zobracsok) Rohal in Irondale, Ohio and came to Ionia with his family in 1922. 
He was a graduate of SS. Peter and Paul’s Academy in 1933.

He worked as a self-employed autobody repairman in his own shop and later at
Gibson Refrigeration in Greenville, retiring in 1985.  He served in the U.S.
Army during W.W. II, serving in the N. African invasion until 1945.  He was a
member of SS. Peter and Paul’s Catholic Church in Ionia.

He is survived by three sisters, Anna Kohn of Lansing, Mary (Wyman) Howard of
Council Bluffs, Iowa and Frances (Harold) Yeasly of Ionia; and several nieces
and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, John and
William; and one sister, Helen Supp.

Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at SS. Peter and
Paul’s Catholic Church with Fr. Charles Hall as presider.  Interment will be in
Mt. Olivet Cemetery.  Visitation will be on Monday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and
from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Rich St. Chapel of Cook Funeral Home.  Pall
bearers will be John Fears, Bill Fears, Russell Clark, Dale Jones, Ron Jones and
Dave Sherman.  Memorial contributions may be made to SS. Peter and Paul’s
Catholic Church.  Envelopes are available at the Cook Funeral Home in Ionia.
