The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Monday, December 1, 1975

Mrs. Edna Bell Roland of route 1, Lyons, died early Sunday morning at a 
Kalamazoo nursing home following an extended illness.  She was born in Clare 
county April 23, 1888, the daughter of Charles and Capitola Landers and 
attended the Harrison public schools.

In 1902 she was married at Harrison to Henry Roland, who was a United Brethren 
minister and they served in many parishes in Michigan.  She was a member of 
the Matherton Untied Brethren church and its Women’s Missionary society.

Her survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Beatrice Wiebert of Lyons, 
Capitola Roland of Saginaw and Mrs. Naomi Benjamin of Otsego; six sons, W. 
Claude Roland of Lyons, Wayne of Toronto, Canada, Harwood of Ann Arbor, 
Kenneth of Argentine, Michigan, and Leon and Ronald, both of Lyons; three 
sisters, Mrs. Mina Sanford, Aberdeen, Wash., Mrs. Earl Myers of Springfield, 
Oregon, and Mrs. Lena Wiley of Creswell, Oregon; brother, Grey Landers of 
Salem, Oregon; 23 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren and four great great 
grandchildren.

Services will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Hull Memorial chapel at Muir.  
Rev. Paul Hehner of Harrison United Brethren church, assisted by Rev. Baney of 
the Matherton United Brethren church, will officiate.  Services also will be 
held Wednesday at 3 p.m. at the Harrison United Brethren church with interment 
at the Hillcrest cemetery at Harrison.  Memorials have been established for 
the United Brethren churches of Harrison and Matherton.
