Donald E. Rolfe, 87, of Saranac, passed away April 8, 2013 at his home in 
Saranac. He was born Dec. 24, 1925 in Chesaning, the son of Edmond and Edna 
(Block) Rolfe. 

He married Marie Doty on Dec. 6, 1948 in Chesaning. Donald worked for Saranac 
Community Schools. He liked to camp, fish, and travel to Florida.

He is survived by sons, Michael (Cathy) Rolfe of Saranac, Craig (Jamie) Role of 
Ionia, and Mark (Erica) Rolfe of Ionia; grandchildren, Corey (Erin) Rolfe of 
Kalamazoo, Alicia Rolfe of Grand Rapids, Christina Snyder of Ionia, Austin 
Jackson of Saranac, Madelynn Rolfe of Saranac, Natalie Rolfe of Saranac; and 
one great granddaughter, Claire.

He was preceded in death by his wife in 2010; parents; sister, Alta Golombisky; 
and brother-in-law, Don Golombisky.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. at Easton United Methodist Church with 
Pastor Nancy Patera officiating. Interment at Saranac Cemetery. Visitation will 
be held 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 12 at Lake Funeral Home in 
Saranac.
