Ionia Daily Sentinel – Wednesday, 24 January 1945

Extended illness ended early Wednesday in the death at his home in Muir of 
Rollin W. Branyan, 83, retired village hardware merchant and former North 
Plains Township farmer.  He had lived in the community 77 years.

Funeral service will be conducted Friday at 2 o’clock at the home by the Rev. 
Mercer, of Lyons.  Mrs. Edward Bennett will sing.  Burial will be in North 
Plains cemetery.

Pallbearers will include Joseph Miller, Wilbur Wiggins, Everett Derrick, 
George Ross, Charles Wright and Frances Kruger.

Surviving are the widow, a brother, George, Battle Creek, and a sister, Mrs. 
Alta Gardner of Smyrna.

Mr. Branyan had conducted his hardware business in Muir for 30 years prior to 
retiring several years ago.
