The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Monday, March 2, 1931
George A. Roop, 75, died at his home, 714 Harrison street, Monday morning 
after two weeks’ illness that followed a stroke.

He was born in Houghton county, O., but had lived the greater part of his life 
in Michigan, in Lowell, in Carson City and in Ionia.  He had been employed at 
the Stafford factory 30 years prior to its closing.

Surviving are the widow and a daughter, the latter of Grand Rapids; a sister, 
Mrs. Ella Blaine, of Metamora, O., and a brother, John, of Morenci.
